FOR PROVIDERS

Newcomer Rights in the U.S.

Regardless of immigration status, newcomer children, youth, and their families in the U.S. are entitled to certain rights and protections. Knowledge of their rights is crucial to support decision making and connect youth and their families to appropriate care and support.

The resources in this section are for providers, to better understand the rights and protections of newcomer children and youth. The resources below offer information on language access laws and best practices when working with interpreters.
