ABOUT US
USCRI’s Refugee Youth Resource Center (RYRC) seeks to build the capacity of refugee-serving providers to better meet the needs of newcomer children and families through outreach, education, training, and technical assistance. Our team also participates in various coalitions and conducts community presentations to increase understanding of the unique needs and experiences of young refugees.
Our offerings support community organizations and state and local agencies such as schools, child welfare agencies, law enforcement, social service organizations, and others in the provision of trauma-informed and culturally responsive services that address the needs of young refugees and other ORR-eligible populations.

Join us for an upcoming training workshop presented by USCRI’s Refugee Youth Resource Center, to explore practical strategies for supporting newcomer youth and families navigating today’s immigration landscape.
This 1.5-hour training is intended for service providers working with refugee and other ORR-eligible children and youth, including resettlement agencies, child welfare, schools, health/mental health providers, anti-trafficking organizations, and others.
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Describe current immigration-related stressors and their impacts on newcomer youth, families, and communities.
- Support newcomer youth and families experiencing immigration-related stressors through culturally responsive, strength-based approaches, family preparedness planning, connection to community resources, and know-your-rights education.
- Identify the emotional impacts of the current immigration landscape on staff and implement strategies to support staff well-being.
