Newcomer children, youth, and families often face a variety of challenges and new opportunities as they build their lives in the United States. Young people are commonly navigating new educational systems, learning a new language, balancing multiple cultural identities, adjusting to changing family roles and responsibilities, and some may be coping with uncertainty related to immigration status.  

For providers working with or supporting newcomer children and youth, it’s important to have awareness of and access to resources, tools, and trainings designed specifically for newcomer children, youth, and their families, to help empower families with information and resources to thrive in their new communities. The Refugee Youth Resource Center’s Youth & Family Information & Resource Pages provide multilingual information and resources on a variety of topics relevant to newcomer youth and families. Many of these resources can be found in Arabic, Dari, French, Haitian Creole, Kiswahili, Pashto, Spanish, and Ukrainian, in addition to English.
