This 1.5-hour training is intended for service providers working with refugee and other ORR-eligible children and youth, including resettlement agencies, child welfare, schools, health/mental health providers, anti-trafficking organizations, and others.
By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify common signs of emotional distress and factors influencing newcomer children and youth’s emotional well-being
- Utilize culturally responsive approaches for discussing mental health with newcomer youth and their caregivers
- Recognize when and how to refer youth for additional support services
